The team are ecstatic to have secured this beautiful Filly from the Lyndhurst Farm Stud at the March Magic Millions sales. At just $28,000 fall of hammer we feel she was the bargain of the sale and being QTIS eligible we will be racing for the elusive QTIS prize money bonuses as a 2YO & 3YO. This filly looks a real early running type and her pedigree screams speed on speed!
Our filly is out of the ever-reliable Queensland stallion BETTER THAN READY. A winner himself of 8 races including 4 at listed level, his success as a sire is second to none here in Queensland including the likes of Apache Chase, Alpine Edge, The Odyssey and Magic Millions winner Skirt the Law. He is the sire of over 6214 foals to race with 814 winners at a winning strike rate of 13.6%. However, his ability to sire two-year-old winners is a clear highlight – 155 wins from 894 starts (17.3%). Her dam PRINCESS QUALO has thrown seven foals to race, including five winners - boasting a winning strike rate of 10.8% and a placing strike rate of 37.5%. Our filly’s sister ROASTED won two races and collected $93,300 in prize money. She was competitive in a 2-year-old race on debut and in her third preparation strung two wins together at 3-year-old Open Handicap level.
Her brother DAMN FINE won a 2YO metropolitan maiden first up in his second preparation and proceeded to collect over $76,665 in prize money winning at distances from 1050m up to 1300m. The family has proven success at the two- and three-year-old level which fits perfectly for the profile we are targeting in Central Queensland the next two seasons at sprinting distances, especially with the QTIS bonuses available. To top this off, we are excited to announce that our filly will be joining the Walsh Racing stables. We have already had success with Nick and his team at Walsh Racing and look forward to sending our filly his way. Nick’s statistics speak for themselves with a winning strike rate of 35%. Nick boasts the best strike rates of any trainer in the region - highlighting his ability to get horses up and running at their best and most importantly, winning races. In addition to this, Nick has had a lot of success with younger horses nurturing them through their early education and getting them to the races.
Our filly has already left the busy sales atmosphere at the Gold Coast and is headed to the first class facilities at Kolora Lodge to spend a month in the paddock before she will be broken-in.
